CHALLENGE
Client company was printing a substantial quantities of brochures, handouts, flyers and direct mail pieces. Our "printing audit" demonstrated that the client was over-paying for printing. In addition, we found that some pieces looked too "cheesy." We felt that the pieces could be improved without adding to printing costs.
PROJECT
We reviewed over 150 collateral pieces. We felt that copy and art direction could be improved. The national marketing manager warned us that "our goal is to save money not increase our spending." We then presented our alternative printing program. We shopped multiple small printers to achieve extremely low printing costs. We didn't compromise on quality - these printers currently serve major companies like Hallmark in Kansas City.
RESULTS
We reduced printing costs by over 25% for a savings of thousands of dollars. A relatively small portion of the savings was used to upgrade copy and graphics on all the collateral. Best of all, every piece was either 2-color or 4-color with greatly improved copy and graphics.
ONLINE
To make life easier for various marketing managers, we put samples of a substantial number of the pieces of the collateral online. This allowed each executive to quickly determine the available inventory of each collateral piece. With a simple click of the mouse the manager could order additional collateral pieces, make changes and designate where the pieces should be shipped.
CREDENTIALS
As a printing brokerage, we're able to research capabilities and cost structures for over 1,000 printers across the US. Because of the tremendous volume of printing that we do each year, we're able to offer our clients the best printing available in America at costs 20% - 35% below the industry norm.
